Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will get Android Nougat Update

Xiaomi has announced a list of phones that qualify to get Android Nougat update. There are 14 Xiaomi phones in all that make the cut. While 10 of them will get Android 7.0, only four will be eligible for an Android 7.1 update in the days to come. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 4 is nowhere to be seen which has quite obviously led to widespread speculation over the Internet, even more so, because the phone in question is already on Android 7.0 Nougat Preview. Xiaomi has been more than vocal about the fact that "we don't update a phone just to change an Android version number. But, actually it has to make the phone better." Clearly, Android version numbers don't make a Xiaomi phone. Xiaomi's phones are in no way inadequate -- or inferior -- in software standards over counterparts. It's just that Xiaomi operates in an entirely different manner to them. "In our experience, we don't measure it like Android 7 is better than Android 6, but, is the experience better? Right now, I know that the Android N version is not better. As soon as it is, we'll upgrade it," a Xiaomi spokesperson explained to me not long ago. Besides, even though its phones may not be updated to a latest version of Android, Xiaomi ensures that it pushes out at least some of its features, through a MIUI update. But then again, that's just foresight something that only time will tell. For now, we can confirm that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 India version - the same phone that is currently on Android 7.0 Nougat Preview - will get Android Nougat (based MIUI) soon. The same cannot be said about the Redmi Note 4 China version. Xiaomi phones that will be updated to Android 7.0: Mi Max,…
